Miriam brings a passion for advocacy to all her mission-driven work. As Director of the Good Housekeeping Institute, she launched the Green Good Housekeeping Seal, an environmental overlay to the legendary Good Housekeeping Seal, partnered with the James Beard Foundation to address food sustainability and hunger across America, and worked with Partnership for a Healthier America, Clinton Global Initiative, and the Smithsonian Institute. As Editor in Chief of Child magazine, she launched Children's Champion Awards, honoring such child advocates as Marian Wright Edelman, Geoffrey Canada, Marlo Thomas, Judy Blume, and Joe Torre. She served on the National Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes, Advisory Board of the Child Development Institute at Sarah Lawrence College, Board of Directors of American Friends of Soroka Medical Center, and Board of Directors of the Entertainment Software Review Board. She spearheaded and hosted American Health’s Advocacy Awards, saluting health champions, including colon cancer screening advocate Katie Couric and Nancy Brinker, founder of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
